SiteSeed vs. Outrank

SiteSeed vs. Outrank: which fits the work?

SiteSeed and Outrank both research keywords, plan a month of articles and publish them to the site you already run. SiteSeed drafts the plan from your existing website, removes a sentence that states a figure, a source or a name neither its research nor the product's own page could confirm, checks every week whether Perplexity cites you, and starts free. Outrank adds link building between its customers' blogs on its one plan, YouTube embeds, and an API, a CLI and an MCP server.

Best for

For one site, SiteSeed starts free and then costs $29/month for 30 researched articles, where Outrank is $99/month for the same 30. Three sites and 90 articles are $79/month. Outrank suits a business that wants backlinks in the plan and an API to build on.

Pricing context

SiteSeed starts free, Starter is $29/month for 30 articles on one site, and Pro is $79/month for 90 articles across 3 sites. Outrank has one plan, Organic Growth, at $99/month or $999/year for 30 articles a month on one website, shown beside a struck-through $199. More articles on that website are an add-on: 60 a month for $85/month more, 90 a month for $160/month more. Each further website needs its own plan, with 10% off for 2 to 4 sites, 15% for 5 to 19 and 20% for 20 to 25.

Best for

Founders and small teams publishing articles built to rank and be cited on their own site, and agencies running client sites.

Entrepreneurs who want articles and backlinks from one plan, one website at a time.

Getting started

Free plan (3 articles a month), then $29/month for 30 articles

A trial with watermarked articles, then $99/month ($999 a year) for 30 articles

Planning around your site

Reads your existing website to draft a brief, then a calendar on Autopilot or by hand.

Scans your site to map audience and competitors, then a 30-day plan with one keyword a day.

Fact checking

Sources cited in every article. A sentence that states a figure, a source or a name its research could not confirm is removed before the article is saved, unless the product's own page states it, and every removal is listed on the article.

Articles of 1,200 to 1,700 words with internal and external links, AI images and YouTube embeds. Human editors who fact-check are a $1,399/month add-on.

Finding the next keywords

A keyword backlog under each topic, refilled from web research and from the searches Search Console already shows your site for. One keyword per article.

Automatic keyword research with search volume, difficulty and CPC, unlimited on its plan, and a chat to brainstorm keywords.

After publishing

Reads Google Search Console every week and proposes a refresh for its own articles that slip or sit just off page one, or plans it by itself once you switch that on. Same address, with the last 3 versions kept to restore.

With Search Console connected, rewrites the published articles with the most upside, up to two a week, and waits for you to look at each one by default. These do not use the monthly articles.

Topic structure

Articles are grouped under a topic. Each links to the topic's main page, and the main page links back once you let SiteSeed update live articles.

Internal and external links in every article. No topic clusters listed.

More sites

$79/month for 3 sites and 90 articles

Each website needs its own $99/month plan, with 10% off for 2 to 4 sites

Reporting

A report link per site to share: what published and what the AI citation checks found.

Clicks and impressions compared two weeks after a rewrite. White-label reports are on a waitlist.

Search and AI visibility

Keyword-led opening, question headings and internal links, position and clicks per article from Google Search Console, and a weekly Perplexity citation check on every plan.

Articles written for Google and AI assistants. It tracks rankings, indexed pages and backlinks, and leaves AI citation tracking to third-party tools.

Publishing

WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Ghost, Wix, HubSpot and Notion, a webhook to any endpoint (Zapier, Make and n8n included), or copy the finished article.

WordPress, WordPress.com, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Framer, Ghost, Notion, a Next.js blog and a webhook, plus an API.

Extras

No link exchanges on your domain or your clients'. 150+ languages, including Vietnamese.

Link building between customers' blogs on the plan, 150+ languages, unlimited users, and paid add-ons for more backlinks, free tools and human editing.

How the workflows differ

SiteSeed starts from your website: paste it, review the brief it drafts, let the calendar run on Autopilot or plan it by hand, and open a report showing what published and whether AI assistants cited it. After that it reads Search Console each week, adds the searches you have no article for, and refreshes the articles that slip. Outrank builds a 30-day plan with one keyword a day, writes and publishes an article for each, places links between its customers' blogs, and, with Search Console connected, rewrites the articles with the most upside.

Frequently asked questions

Which is cheaper for one website?
SiteSeed has a free plan with 3 articles a month, and Starter is $29/month for 30 articles on one site. Outrank is $99/month, or $999 a year, for 30 articles on one website. Its trial shows keyword research and watermarked articles before you subscribe.
Which is cheaper for more than one site?
SiteSeed Pro covers 3 sites and 90 articles for $79/month. Outrank is priced per website: each one needs its own $99/month plan, with 10% off for 2 to 4 sites and larger discounts from 5. SiteSeed's plans stop at three sites; beyond that it quotes a custom plan.
What happens after an article is published?
Both tools keep working. With Search Console connected, Outrank picks the published articles with the most upside, rewrites them, up to two a week, and by default waits for you to look at each one. SiteSeed reads Search Console every week too: searches your site shows up for with no article go into the keyword backlog, and its own articles that slip or sit just off page one get a refresh on the calendar, at the same address, with the last 3 versions kept. SiteSeed refreshes on its own only after you switch that on.
Why doesn't SiteSeed include backlinks?
SiteSeed does not run link exchanges on your site or your clients' sites. Google's spam policies count excessive link exchanges as link spam, so SiteSeed keeps to on-site work (research, writing, publishing and citation checks) and leaves link building to your own judgment. Outrank's link building works on credits you earn by letting it place a link in the articles it writes for you.
How do the AI citation checks compare?
Outrank writes for AI assistants as well as Google, and says citations are tracked with third-party tools: inside Outrank you track rankings, indexed pages and backlinks. SiteSeed checks Perplexity weekly on every plan, per site, with more keywords tracked on bigger plans, and shows the results on the Proof page and in the shareable report, including weeks with no citations.
